The Routine

From This to This

My own hair, three years apart. This routine is the whole secret.

People keep asking how my hair went from what it was in 2023 to what it is today. There is no miracle treatment behind it: it is this routine, done consistently, with the same products I sell in my studio. This is exactly what I use on my own hair, in the order I use it.

The routine, step by step

1

Wash, balanced

3 or more times a week

I wash my hair at least three times a week, always with this shampoo. My scalp tends to get oily while my ends stay dry, and this is the one that balances both instead of stripping everything.

2

Condition every wash

Every wash

The matching conditioner, every single wash, on the lengths and ends. Skipping conditioner is where most of the dryness people complain about actually starts.

3

The weekly deep clean

Once a week

Once a week I switch to the Therapy shampoo for a deeper clean, then condition with the Equilibrium as usual. It keeps buildup from sitting on the hair and dulling it.

4

Feed the scalp every night

Every night

Every night, on the scalp: this collagen scalp treatment. Healthy hair starts at the scalp, and this is the step people skip because the result is not instant. It is the one I credit the most for the change.

5

Oil on the ends, three times a day

3 times a day

Three times a day, a little of the Illuminatte oil on the ends. It sounds like a lot until you see what dry ends do to long hair. This is the habit that keeps my ends looking like part of the same hair as the roots.

6

The weekly mask

Once a week

Once a week, in the shower, this mask for three to five minutes. On mask day I skip the conditioner completely: the mask does the whole job on its own.

7

The morning finish

Every morning

In the morning I spray the Amino through the lengths, about three sprays, even when I let my hair dry naturally the night before. If I wash at night, I dry it before bed; the Amino goes on in the morning either way.

Cris's hair today, worn smooth

The unglamorous part that makes it work: I comb my hair three times a day, I let it dry naturally whenever I can, and I trim about an inch every three months. Consistency is the real secret.
